For this session we're going to chant in community, we'll contemplate the importance of yoga as a framework for social justice and embody it through practice. At Teapot yoga we centre disability justice and strive to teach yoga creatively so that every person can access the energy we are looking to connect with and cultivate. There will be chairs and mats available, we will demonstrate using both. We'll have time in the session to discuss our experience of the practice.

Mantra Chanting Meditation - Kirtan - Nourish your soul with a heart-opening Kirtan — a sacred practice of the Bhakti yoga tradition of South Asia, known as the yoga of devotion and the path of the heart. In this session, we’ll sing simple ancient mantras together with music and melody, allowing the sound vibrations to soothe the nervous system, open the heart, and bring us back to ourselves — and each other. No singing experience is needed — just your presence and willingness to join in.............................................. We honour the cultural and spiritual roots of this practice with deep respect and gratitude. I want to acknowledge that kirtan comes from a sacred Indian spiritual tradition. As someone outside that culture, I know there are real concerns around cultural appropriation. I approach this practice with deep respect, and I’m committed to learning, honoring its roots, and staying open to feedback. My intention is not to take from the tradition, but to engage with it in a humble and reverent way.
