Come home to you, to your body, to nature, to all parts of you. All of you is welcome, wherever you're at, and whatever you're dealing with. And we're dealing with a lot these days. Come take an hour to drop it all on the mat and find some space, some peace, some calm, some compassion. This workshop is about connecting to the core of you, reconnecting to your authentic self without all the masks, boxes, facades, and illusions. Somatic comes from the Greek Soma or "body". This workshop is about connecting your head to the wisdom of your body. It's inner work which we do through movement (asana), breathwork, guided meditation, mantra, and mudra (hand postures). Kundalini yoga is great for this because its a whole body system yoga which impacts on the nervous, endocrine, immune, cardiovascular, and glandular systems in the body. We use the tools of yoga to enable us to access these systems which largely are autonomic and inaccessible. Through doing this, we experience ourselves and the world differently. This has been my own journey for over 10 years, and a trained yoga teacher and facilitator for 7 years. I have focused my training in trauma sensitivity and resilience, regulating the nervous system, using yoga as a therapeutic device, and learning how to support myself and my neurodivergence through the body. In this workshop I'll share some of the tools I've learnt that have helped me so that you can be empowered to do this for yourself. Ruth (she/her) is a kundalini yoga and yoga nidra teacher, circle facilitator with a focus on somatics, the nervous system and the impact of trauma on the body. She is currently studying to become a somatic coach. Ruth’s passion is creating safe enough community space for the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities. Through safety comes the ability to re-regulate our nervous systems and heal from trauma through genuine community connection. Ruth offers in person community yoga classes and queer circles in Worthing, West Sussex. Ruth loves all forms of body based movement that support connecting to body sensations, to bring awareness to them and shift and release what no longer serves. Dance, shaking, exercise, yoga all offer invitations to connect to the body and our nervous systems

y name is Ailsa, and I’m a Welsh outdoor instructor based in North Wales. I’ve spent much of my career working in the outdoors through climbing instruction, mountain walking, scrambling, and other adventure-based activities across Eryri / Snowdonia. After taking time away from instructing to train in carpentry, I found myself drawn back to the mountains and to creating spaces where people can reconnect — both with nature and with themselves. That journey led me to create Siwrnai — the Welsh word for “journey”. Through Siwrnai, I offer guided outdoor experiences rooted in exploration, curiosity, and reconnection. My work ranges from adventurous days in the mountains and on the water to slower, more reflective practices such as Forest Bathing and nature connection. I’m passionate about creating inclusive and welcoming outdoor spaces, particularly for people who may not always feel represented or comfortable in traditional outdoor settings. Alongside this work, I also founded Queer Hiking North Wales as part of my wider commitment to belonging, community, and access in the outdoors. I believe outdoor spaces can be powerful places for healing, reflection, adventure, and growth. My approach is about guiding without over-directing — creating opportunities for people to slow down, tune into their surroundings, and experience nature in a more mindful and connected way. Adventure & Nature Connection in the Mountains For Out & Wild Festival, I’ll be running a relaxed and welcoming workshop centred around adventure, connection, and exploring the landscapes of Eryri and beyond safely and confidently. The session would create space for an open conversation about getting started with outdoor adventures in North Wales — from hiking and wild swimming to mountain days and exploring nature more independently. I’d like to share practical guidance around where to begin, how to stay safe, build confidence outdoors, and have meaningful and positive experiences in nature regardless of experience level. Alongside this, I’d also like to introduce some gentle Forest Bathing and nature connection practices that participants can take away with them on future adventures. These simple exercises are designed to help people slow down, tune into their surroundings, and experience the outdoors in a calmer, more mindful way — balancing adventure with moments of reflection and presence. The overall aim of the session is to make the outdoors feel more accessible, welcoming, and enriching for people who may feel curious about adventure but unsure where to start, while also encouraging a deeper connection with the landscapes we move through.

Out and wild is humming some of its last notes, you've spent the whole weekend making new friends and trying new things – perhaps you've whittled a mushroom. Your heart is full to the brim and you're ready to mentally and physically settle down. Now is the perfect moment to try restorative yoga - finding peace and comfort in breath-led movement and stillness in poses that are restful and designed to let you sigh with relief. This, coupled with a lo-fi musical mix, will leave you feeling mellow and perhaps with a little more energy to enjoy the last night hurrahs.

We spend our whole lives being so external, being stuck in our heads and then doing things to keep everyone else happy, forgetting about ourselves entirely until our bodies let us know that's no longer possible. We're so afraid of letting people down, getting things wrong, not being perfect that we stay stuck in boxes that other people have put us in. This workshop will support you to unstick yourself and break out of the boxes that aren't really you, that don't serve you, that keep you from your authentic true queer joy. In this workshop we will do different kinds of guided movement designed to reset the nervous system, bring a sense of safety in being ourselves, and then we will move into dance that is guided by your inner self - your inner child, the parts of you that are exiled, the parts that you stop from dancing because you're afraid of looking stupid. You will be invited to start to move to your own inner rhythm and the way your body wants to move. This is very powerful because if we tap into this in ourselves we can unlock stuck parts of ourselves, and things the body is holding onto - pain, trauma, emotions, fear, patterns, habits, beliefs - anything that's no longer serving but is stuck in the body. The body shows us how to release it if we listen and can let go into our own inner dance. Come join me and dance yourself free of what's weighing you down, keeping you small, holding you back.
