A mini Out & Wild Walking Weekend - 27th to 29th September
Overview
Join us for a weekend of walking and friendship in Dartmoor! This is a subsidised trip thanks to funding from the YHA. We have taken over the whole of Dartmoor YHA for a weekend of walks to coincide with YHA Festival of Walking. The weekend includes 2 x guided hikes plus an optional walk on Sunday and Sunday lunch (Sunday Lunch not included in price) The weekend is all inclusive, with buffet breakfasts, packed lunches and dinners (with vegan and gluten free options). BYO your own drinks. The weekend kicks off from 4pm on Friday 27th and ends on Sunday after a small hike and an optional Sunday lunch. All dorms come with bedding provided.

Polly Shute is the Co-Founder of Out & Wild Festival. She will be there to meet and greet all and also prepare all the food and drinks for the weekend,
Susie Amann
Susie Amann is an International Mountain Leader who has loved journeys in the outdoors since she did her first ‘expedition’ on the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme aged 14. Since then she has spent over 30 years exploring on all five continents and has a taste for deserts as well as mountains. Susie has been leading trekking groups since 2005; in the Alps and Dolomites, as well as the UK and further afield : India, Nepal, Cuba, Jordan, Peru, Bolivia and more. She enjoys learning about the local culture wherever she is, and especially the local cake specialities. Based in the southern Cotswolds, she cycles and paddleboards as well ; in 2021 she raised over £2000 for Samaritans cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats. In the winter she continues exploring, seeking adventure in the back country on skis when possible.

We have booked the whole hostel
This is a beautiful small hostel situated in the middle of Dartmoor National Park. It is near some beautiful walk locations. And you may even see the odd wild pony and a few sheep wandering around the hostel grounds.
FAQs
Any time after 4pm on Friday 27th
We provide an evening meal on Friday and Saturday, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday (buffet style) and packed lunches Friday and Saturday. There will also be tea, coffee and milk (including decaf and non-dairy milk).
The only thing you need to bring is snacks and your own drinks.
Yes, you can. Dogs will need to be kept downstairs though or in campervans.
If you are sleeping in the hostel bedding is provided.
Please bring walking boots and suitable clothing for walking in the sun or rain!
Food and tea and coffee is provided but please bring your own soft and alcoholic drinks and any snacks.
